Rothstein Recommends Best Times for Walking
Coordinator and instructor for the exercise science program Alexander Rothstein, Ed.D., is featured in an article on Peloton’s The Output addressing the best times of day for taking a walk. He suggests that those with asthma and COPD should consider early-morning walks, when air pollution is at its lowest. For those feeling too sedentary during the day, Rothstein says hourly walking breaks of at least five minutes will be beneficial.
“Really everyone should be walking or just having some lower intensity movement to go along with the exercise bout,” Rothstein recommends for athletes. “In general, having lower intensity movement that doesn’t use too much energy is going to be helpful.”
