Student Projects in the Spotlight

March 31, 2025

A Newsday article features several College of Engineering and Computing Sciences students comprising two teams which have created device prototypes designed to assist disabled workers in completing everyday tasks. The teams will present their prototypes to a judging panel at the CREATE Symposium on April 9 in Albany, N.Y. Among those featured are Skylynn Kilfoil Greaves, part of a team with three other students that has developed an automatic mixer for blending colored inks. The product is intended to benefit employees on the autism spectrum at Spectrum Designs. Also mentioned are Russell Wetzler, Derrick Chiu, and Alana Singh, who have built T.R.A.M., a device that can assist disabled people in lift heavy items, designed for AHRC Nassau.
