January 14, 2014

New York, NY – New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) has named Ronald P. Maggiore, Ph.D., a highly experienced enrollment services administrator, as its new Vice President for Enrollment Management.

In this role, Maggiore is responsible for strategic enrollment management, encompassing the core areas of admissions, retention, and financial aid. He will work with university administrators and faculty throughout NYIT's global community to enhance the university's efforts to recruit and retain a talented and diverse student body. NYIT educates more than 13,000 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students to become physicians, architects, scientists, engineers, and business leaders in many fields.

Maggiore has extensive experience in recruitment and retention, and offers broad leadership in academic administration spanning institutions of various sizes, missions, and complexities in areas including registration, financial aid, institutional research and planning, international affairs, and academic advising, among others.

"Ron Maggiore is the most experienced enrollment services administrator we have been fortunate to attract to NYIT. His leadership and demonstrable success will help guide our strategic planning and execution in this all-important function and build upon our past and recent successes. His wealth of expertise in institutional research and use of technology aligns perfectly with our focus on data-driven decision-making processes in the rapidly evolving world of admissions, retention, and financial aid," said Edward Guiliano, president of NYIT.

"I am excited about leading the enrollment effort here because of the many competitive advantages NYIT offers to students. NYIT is well-positioned geographically to capture creative energies in New York and at its global campuses. We also add value to our student academic experience through programs that are highly relevant to societal needs. This creates real value for students who are serious about bringing solutions to future societal challenges through the professions," Maggiore noted.

Most recently, Maggiore served as vice provost of students at Kwantlen Polytechnic University in British Columbia, where he was responsible for strategic enrollment management and administrative offices, as well as student affairs. He joined Kwantlen in 2009 from the University of New Orleans, where he was associate vice chancellor for enrollment management and dean of admissions for five years. He has also served as dean of admissions and early in his career, as director of institutional research, at other universities.

He earned his B.A. in Psychology at University of Massachusetts–Amherst and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Psychology at University of Wisconsin-Madison.
