NYIT Welcomes Alan C. Guarino to Board of Trustees

New York, NY – Alan C. Guarino, Korn/Ferry International's vice chairman of global financial markets, is the newest member of New York Institute of Technology's board of trustees.

"We are proud to welcome Alan, whose comprehensive understanding of the global marketplace will be invaluable to the board as we work on new initiatives for this 21st-century model global university," said NYIT Board of Trustees Chairperson Linda Davila (B.S. '78). "He brings a wealth of experience, perspective, and strategic vision to NYIT."

At Korn/Ferry, Guarino is responsible for major account relationships in financial markets around the world as well as select CEO and board services projects. He is the former CEO and founder of Cornell International, a boutique executive search and HR consulting firm that he sold to Adecco in 2003. After the sale, he remained as senior vice president of Adecco North America and CEO of its executive search division. Other successful business launches include Cornell Strategic Partners and Worldemployment.com. Guarino also has served as strategic advisor, board member, and human capital provider for start-up, emerging growth, or small-cap companies.

As an expert on the capital markets, transaction services, and electronic trading industries, Guarino has been featured on CNBC and Hannity on Fox News and in CEO Magazine. His 2007 book, Smart Is Not Enough!, focuses on talent management.

Guarino has served as founding chairman of the Board of Father Flanagan's Boys Town of New York, president of the West Point Society of New York, and as an advisory board member of MuSigma (Quant Analytics). He also chairs the compensation committee as a board member of The Chefs' Warehouse. Guarino graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point and earned his master's in business administration from Embry Riddle University while on active duty in the United States Army.
