New York, NY – Caroline Watteeuw, a seasoned business executive with extensive experience in leading complex technology and information security functions, has joined the board of trustees at New York Institute of Technology (NYIT). A technology officer at leading global private equity firm Warburg Pincus, she is responsible for IT diligence with prospective investments, as well as providing ongoing advisory services to the firm's existing portfolio companies.

Ms. Watteeuw also served as global chief technology officer (CTO) and senior vice president, Business Information Services at PepsiCo, overseeing the company's worldwide IT Innovation Centers, architecture and engineering teams, infrastructure operations, manufacturing, and logistics systems.

"Caroline's expertise in setting and executing strategic direction for both startups and multinational corporations, combined with her skills in data analytics and creating sustainable competitive advantage, are of great value to NYIT," said Kevin Silva, chair of the NYIT Board of Trustees. "Further, her entrepreneurial spirit and numerous innovations in global business and technology add a remarkable dimension to the diverse expertise of our board and university leadership."

Born in Belgium and a U.S. resident since graduate school, Watteeuw brings a personal and professional sensitivity to globalism that resonates with NYIT's global vision, students, and career-oriented professional programs. She is also an advocate for women in the sciences.

She serves on the board of directors of Capgemini. She earned a professional chemical engineering degree at the University of Ghent in Belgium and a M.S. in chemical and biochemical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.
