Graphic Design Minor

Graphic Design has become important to almost every industry as professionals at all levels must know how to communicate their messages visually. Whether in a business environment or classroom, the success of any presentation depends on a sophisticated design incorporating imagery, typography, and stylized look.

Courses offered through this minor include a wide range of subjects to help you effectively:

  • Apply principles of visual organization to a variety of presentation methods, including social media and web platforms, data visualization, package designs, and printed materials.
  • Generate creative ideas that translate content into effective, innovative, and aesthetically pleasing presentations.
  • Gain critical design competencies that can be used in a variety of careers.
  • Develop technical savviness with industry standard visual application software.

The Graphic Design minor is for non-designers who are looking to become better visual communicators. You will receive a strong fundamental knowledge of industry standards, technologies, and terminologies, and develop the creative thinking and problem solving skills that will help make you a more attractive candidate in the job market.
