We’re Here to Help
Our trained staff will assist you during every phase of your NYIT residence life experience:
- NYIT Resident Assistants (RAs) are dedicated to ensuring your personal and academic growth. They often live within the residence halls and plan activities to build community relationships with other students.
- Our Hall Directors assist in the daily operation and management of residence halls. They manage teams of RAs assigned to each building.
- Our Community Development Assistants work with NYIT RAs and hall directors to help ensure proper safety operations and facilities management.
Safety and Security
Security personnel and/or building staff are on duty 24 hours day at all Manhattan residence halls. All residents have identification cards and all guests must sign in before being admitted to the building. There is also a strong community police presence surrounding our buildings.
- Safety reports
- If you have an emergency at your Residence Hall, call 911 and then call the RA on duty at the security desk in your building.
Dining and Meal Plans
Although only the Anderson Hall residence includes a full meal plan, the Riverside has community kitchens on each floor. In addition you are allowed to have a small refrigerator and microwave oven in your room.
There are many restaurants and grocery stores close to the residence halls, as well as the grab-and-go Metro Cafe in the Student Activities Building, which offers sandwiches, snacks, and beverages.
