Collegiate Learning Assessment+ Administration

The Collegiate Learning Assessment+ (CLA+) is an effective tool for measuring college students’ performance in critical thinking and written communication. In a recent Cengage study, employers reported that uniquely human skills, e.g., critical thinking and communication skills, are increasingly in demand.

NYIT invites its first-year students and seniors from the New York campuses to gauge their soft skill levels and, for those who score at the proficient level or above, earn a digital badge that can be used to demonstrate their proficiency to future employers.

Students who participate will receive a $50 credit to their NYIT account that can be applied to unpaid charges or refunded as a check. Seniors who complete the assessment will be entered into raffle for the chance to win an extra ticket to Commencement. Students will receive their scores 4-6 weeks after taking the assessment.
