English Language Institute (ELI)

If English is not your native language, you may need specialized English coursework in order to achieve your academic and professional goals. The New York Tech English Language Institute (ELI) can help. We offer every level of English instruction and will prepare you for your future.

Our non-credit classes include:

  • Reading, writing, listening comprehension, and speaking
  • Graduate-level English courses aligned to academic majors
  • Cultural and social activities
  • Small class sizes with no more than 12 students
  • Blended classes with technology-enabled and in-class learning
  • An English language learning portfolio to document your language development

We are authorized under federal law to enroll nonimmigrant alien students and to issue I-20 forms for student visas and DS2019 for J-1 students.

  • Intensive English: Are you looking to improve your academic and professional English? Are you interested in working toward being accepted into a degree program at New York Tech? Join us for 15 weeks in the fall or spring to give yourself a competitive advantage.
  • Pathway Program: Are you looking to start academic studies, but don't yet have the required English proficiency? Our program is broken down into three levels based on your ability, so you can take a combination of English classes and technical electives that will give you the edge you need for your academic and professional career.
