Training Programs: Personal Trainer

Pursue a career in the growing exercise, fitness, personal training, and well-being industries. Upon finishing this 58-hour course, students will receive a certificate of completion from New York Institute of Technology. Classes will be in-person on New York Tech's Long Island campus. This FREE training is valued at $1,800.

Updated May 21, 2024: The New York Tech Healthcare Service Training Project has reached its maximum number of participants and is closed. We are grateful for the opportunity to participate in this NYS Department of Labor grant and train so many individuals, and we look forward to other grants that can provide a similar service to our community.

  • Fitness anatomy and physiology
  • Strengthening upper and lower body
  • Flexibility training
  • Aerobic capacity training
  • Injury prevention
  • Personal fitness programs
  • Fitness for the general population
  • Health screening, testing, and evaluation
  • Leadership skill training
  • Legal and ethical issues

This program is part of the New York Tech Healthcare Service Training Project, offering qualified individuals tuition-free training in response to the healthcare needs of the Long Island region. It is supported by a grant from the New York State Department of Labor and the Long Island Regional Economic Development Council (LIREDC).
