Arkansas Higher Education Board Certifies New NYIT Medical School Site in Jonesboro

The Arkansas Higher Education Coordinating Board today granted New York Institute of Technology certification for an additional osteopathic medical school site on the campus of Arkansas State University in Jonesboro.

NYIT Awards Research Grants

New York Institute of Technology has awarded $220,000 to 37 faculty members for research projects ranging from the development of a therapeutic robotic system for autistic children to a study of the science and art behind the growth of certain crystals.

NYIT's M.S. in Instructional Technology Approved in Abu Dhabi

NYIT today announced that the United Arab Emirates Higher Education and Scientific Research Commission of Academic Accreditation has approved the NYIT-Abu Dhabi Instructional Technology program; NYIT-Abu Dhabi will begin offering a Master of Science (M.S.) degree program in Instructional Technology this fall.

NYIT Names Executive Director for Abu Dhabi Campus

NYIT announced that Ahmad Tabbara has joined the university as executive director of the Abu Dhabi campus. He has more than 25 years of experience in higher education in the Middle East, previously serving in academic and administrative leadership positions at Abu Dhabi Men's College and part of the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) system in Abu Dhabi, as well as in various faculty positions throughout the region where he taught math and physics.

NYIT Researcher Continues Discoveries of Links Between Thyroid Hormones and Heart Health

Administering low doses of a thyroid hormone to rats with diabetes helps restore hormone levels in their hearts and prevented deterioration of heart function and pathology, according to a new study by NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine Professor and Biomedical Sciences Chair A. Martin Gerdes.

Interior Design Student at NYIT Awarded Prestigious Donghia Foundation Scholarship

Stacie Krug, a fourth-year interior design student in NYIT's School of Architecture and Design, has been awarded the prestigious Angelo Donghia Foundation Scholarship for 2014. Krug is one of 12 winners selected from 60 student projects submitted for this year's award by accredited institutions and vying for a scholarship of up to $30,000.
