Current Partners

Baptist Memorial Health Care

Students interested in practicing medicine in the Mid-South upon completion of medical school have a unique opportunity to develop a relationship with one of the region’s largest hospital systems through a NYITCOM-Arkansas and Baptist Memorial Health Care partnership. The partnership agreement identifies up to 25 NYITCOM-Arkansas medical student positions that will be dedicated specifically to students who want to train at Baptist Memorial Health Care facilities during medical school.

First District Congressional Fellowship Program

The First District Congressional (FDC) Fellowship Program is a partnership between NYITCOM-Arkansas and the office of Representative Rick Crawford (AR-1). Each year, a third-year medical student at NYITCOM-Arkansas will apply and be selected to enter into a longitudinal program that runs concurrently with their medical school curriculum. The student will collaborate with the representative’s office to identify an area of research, obtain data, and perform on-site visits to help evaluate the different funding streams provided by federal agencies that grant funding to the Mississippi Delta region. At the conclusion of the program, the student will spend time in Washington D.C., working with the representative’s office to craft potential legislation, analyze policy proposals, and leverage the resources of the office to help ensure federal funding targets needed areas.

Students must apply through the office of Clinical Medicine. The fellowship is designated for a third-year student at NYITCOM-Arkansas, and applicants must have earned a Population Health Certificate to be eligible. The application process requires a letter of intent expressing the student’s interest in public health policy. An NYITCOM committee reviews all applications and makes a selection.
