Student Support
At New York Tech, we pride ourselves on creating a community of caring. We understand that sometimes you need more than just academic support to help you succeed. No matter who you are or what your needs may be—we see you and are here to help.
Achieving Collegiate Excellence (ACE)
Our ACE program provides academic support to undergraduate students who need to raise their GPA to meet scholarship qualifications. Students have access to one-on-one coaching, tutoring, and online academic success courses.
iAchieve is a precursor program targeting second-semester freshmen who have an institutional scholarship and would similarly benefit from academic coaching and other resources.
Bear Bytes
We recognize that proper nutrition is essential to academic success. Our Bear Bytes initiative provides food and other health and wellness resources and information to students at our New York campuses.
Career Success
We’re here to help you find the job you want, expand your professional network, connect you with employers, and advance your career. 94% of our graduates entering the job market are employed within a year of graduation—with some pursuing an additional degree or course of study.
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
We’re proud to have one of the most diverse student bodies in the region, offering you the opportunity to meet and work with people from different backgrounds, cultures, and experiences, as well as your own. Whoever you are, there’s a place—and an organization, event, or peer group—for you at New York Tech.
Financial Assistance
A college education is one of the best investments you can make in your future. We offer generous scholarships and financial aid packages, making us one of the most affordable private universities in New York State.
First-Gen College Students
Almost a quarter of our students identify as “First Generation”—the first generation to attain U.S. citizenship or to be born in the U.S., or the first in their family to attend university. We understand the challenges you face and provide specialized assistance and support for you and your families.
Peer Success Guide (PSG)
We know that adjusting to college can sometimes be difficult. Our Peer Success GUIDE (PSG) Program pairs first-year undergraduate students with a sophomore, junior, or senior student, who will provide you with both social and academic support throughout your first year and help to direct you to the many services and resources available at New York Tech.
International Students
We offer many resources to help you adjust to college and life in the U.S., assist with questions about your visa or immigration, and welcome you into New York Tech’s strong multicultural community through social events and organizations.
Student Service Hub
New York Tech’s Student Service HUB is your one-stop Home for University Business. The HUB is where you can manage the business side of being a student: Register for classes, pay your bill, manage your financial aid, check your grades, get reminders about outstanding items, and much more.
Student Veteran Resources
New York Tech is proud to serve veterans of the U.S. armed forces. We offer specialized financial aid packages and programs and provide personalized support for our student veterans.
Student Wellness
The past year-and-a-half has been tough on all of us. We’re fortunate to have our own medical school on-site on our Long Island campus to provide professional medical care and advice, while the professional counselors at our Counseling and Wellness Center can lend an ear and help you deal with stress and anxiety during this trying time.
