Physician assistants (PAs) are academically and clinically prepared to provide healthcare services as members of collaborative healthcare teams. PAs make clinical decisions and provide a broad range of diagnostic, therapeutic, preventive, and health maintenance services. The clinical role of PAs includes primary and specialty care in medical and surgical practice settings. Practice is centered on patient care and may include educational, research, and administrative activities.

Access many cutting-edge facilities, including The Ferrara Center For Patient Safety and Clinical Simulation, which is home to robotic simulation models and well-trained standardized patients, as well as a state-of-the-art anatomy lab. 

Spend an entire year immersed in clinical rotations, gaining actionable experience in well-rounded, challenging, and diverse clinical environments that prepare you for real-world challenges. Rotation spots include outstanding hospital systems and private practices in New York City and Long Island, with flexibility for out-of-state/home-state options.

What You’ll Learn

You’ll gain a foundation in the medical, behavioral, and social sciences; clinical medicine; patient assessment; and health policy and professional practice issues.

Your capstone project entails conducting original research and collaborating across disciplinary lines through Interprofessional Educational Collaborative (IPEC) learning and activities with other New York Tech students.

Clinical Experience

Your training includes 48 weeks of clinical rotations, where you’ll serve under the supervision of experienced practitioners as you develop your skills in patient care.

The Physician Assistant Studies, M.S. has specific admissions requirements, including a bachelor’s degree (preferably in a science- or health-related field); several minimum academic standards; and technical standards

To apply, please submit the following:

  • One-page personal narrative  
  • Copies of undergraduate transcripts for all schools attended
