For Student Support Offices
New York Tech applies Deming’s Model for Continuous Improvement to our practice of improving student success, and it is designed according to the following process and policy.
Process and Policy
- Define their division’s mission and goals and align them with New York Tech’s missions and strategic goals.
- Clarify each division’s function and improvement goals.
- Select appropriate key performance indicators (KPIs) for each of the goals that can accurately measure the performance, motivate and direct actions, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Apply W. Edwards Deming’s improvement model to develop, test, and implement changes for improvement.
- Hold annual office reviews and planning meetings, focusing the offices’ energy and effort on a couple of key performance areas each year to make the CPI a sustained and manageable process.
