The HIVE (Home for Innovation, Visualization & Exploration)

The HIVE allows students, faculty, and partnering institutions to use advanced technologies to pursue creative research and expand their academic and professional development. Collaborative teams utilize motion capture, 3-D printing and scanning, immersive environments, and other emerging technologies.

Requirements 

  • B.F.A. degree or its equivalent from an accredited college or university 
  • Minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 
  • If your GPA is below the requirement, you may be asked to take the GRE and submit your score 

General Application Materials 

  • Completed application 
  • $50 nonrefundable application fee 
  • Copies of undergraduate transcripts for all schools attended. All final, official transcripts must be received prior to the start of your first semester. 
  • Copy of college diploma or proof of degree 
  • Official GRE scores, if required. NYIT GRE Code: 2561 
  • International student requirements: English proficiency, I-20, and transcript evaluation 

M.F.A. Supplementary Application 

Once you complete the online application, you are required to submit a supplementary application including:  

  • Digital portfolio that showcases your best work through a wide range of media 
  • Description sheet of the contents of the portfolio 
  • Curriculum Vitae/résumé 
  • Optional Personal Statement 

Explore opportunities to offset program costs, including New York Tech scholarships, graduate assistantships, and federal financial aid. 

International F-1 students who successfully complete this degree program are eligible for an additional 24-month STEM OPT extension to work in the U.S. in an area directly related to their area of study immediately upon completing the customary 12-month post-completion Optional Practical Training (OPT)
