Why Minor in Literature and Culture?
At New York Tech, our Minor in Literature and Culture is designed to complement any major, providing you with a well-rounded education that employers value. This 15-credit program immerses you in extensive reading and engagement with the historical and cultural contexts of written texts. You’ll explore the traditions and issues of different cultures, learn how to consider multiple perspectives, and uncover the narratives used not just in literature, but also in marketing, filmmaking, gaming, and many other industries.
The minor includes one three-credit ICLT course to satisfy the General Education requirement, followed by four 300-level courses from the Literature Core, with the option to take a creative writing course. This flexible curriculum allows you to tailor your studies to your interests while gaining a broad understanding of literature and culture.
Students taking the Minor in Literature and Culture will be engaged beyond their major discipline in keeping with the learning goals of New York Institute of Technology.
