Message from the Chair: Physician Assistant Studies

Welcome to the Department of Physician Assistant Studies at New York Tech!
As chair of the Department of Physician Assistant Studies, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our website and introduce you to the opportunities that await you at New York Institute of Technology. By exploring our program, you’ve taken an important first step toward joining a dynamic and impactful profession.
Our program is built on a foundation of excellence, offering students engaging, evidence-based educational experiences designed to cultivate a spirit of service, foster a commitment to diversity, and enhance community health awareness—all while advancing the physician assistant profession. With a faculty of skilled providers boasting over 100 years of combined clinical experience, we deliver a rigorous curriculum complemented by hands-on training at some of the most prestigious academic medical centers in the northeastern United States and beyond. Our graduates are equipped to provide high-quality, compassionate, patient-centered care as competent and collaborative members of the healthcare team.
As highlighted by the American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA), “PAs are dedicated to expanding access to care and transforming health and wellness through patient-centered, team-based medical practice.” At New York Tech, we instill this ethos in our students, teaching them to prioritize not a patient’s age, gender, sexual orientation, race, nationality, or immigration status—but their humanity and need for care, compassion, and commitment. Our mission is to provide you with the skills and confidence to succeed in today’s complex healthcare environment.
Our program has a proud history of excellence. In 2019, we achieved 10-year continued accreditation from the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA), with our next scheduled site visit in September 2029. Our students consistently outperform the national average on the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination (PANCE), a testament to the strength of our curriculum and faculty.
Thank you for your interest in both our program and the PA profession. We are dedicated to guiding you toward your career goals while strengthening the profession by graduating highly skilled and compassionate PAs. I encourage you to explore our admission requirements and FAQ section, where you’ll find answers to many common questions.
We look forward to helping you embark on this exciting journey!
