Message from the Chair: Physician Assistant Studies
As Interim Chair of the New York Tech Department of Physician Assistant Studies, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to our website. You have taken the first step towards exploring the opportunities that await you at New York Institute of Technology.
Our program provides students with engaging educational experiences dedicated to fostering a spirit of service with a commitment to diversity, community health awareness, and advancing the PA profession. We offer a high-quality, evidence-based curriculum taught by a faculty of skilled providers with over 100 years of combined clinical experience. This is accompanied by clinical training at some of the premier academic medical centers in the northeastern United States—and the world! Students graduate prepared to provide high-quality, compassionate, patient-centered healthcare as competent members of an interdisciplinary team.
PAs are dedicated to expanding access to care and transforming health and wellness through patient-centered, team-based medical practice” (n.d., AAPA). As a student in the New York Tech PA Studies program, you will be taught what matters is not a patient’s age, gender, sexual orientation, race, nationality, or immigration status, but that they are a fellow human needing your compassion, care, and commitment. We are devoted to providing you with the range of skills necessary to succeed in the healthcare workforce.
New York Tech’s PA program is proud to bring excellence to physician assistant education. The Department of Physician Assistant Studies successfully achieved 10-year continued accreditation from the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistance (ARC-PA) in 2019, with our next planned accreditation site visit scheduled for September 2029. Pride in our educational program further extends to student performance, where our students have consistently exceeded the national average on the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination® (PANCE).
