Center for Human Resource Studies
The New York Tech School of Management Center for Human Resource Studies prepares current and future HR leaders. Employees are the critical factor in the success of every enterprise. The challenge for human resources leaders is to develop workforce strategies that attract, develop, and engage the talent that enable firms to compete successfully in a dynamic, competitive global business environment.
Academic Program Support
Our graduate programs, supported by our Professional Enrichment program, provide a foundation in essential human resources management and labor relations knowledge, sharpen your critical thinking skills, and develop your leadership abilities. Faculty and industry stakeholders review the curriculum and learning outcomes to ensure their currency and relevance for business. Classes and professional enrichment activities are available evenings and weekends at our campuses on Long Island and in New York City to provide scheduling flexibility.
Professional Development and Workforce Solutions
We offer numerous professional services to practicing professionals, community leaders, and corporate partners. These include SHRM Learning System classes to prepare you for your SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP certification, as well as PayTrain classes for payroll professional certification. Workshops on current HR practices are regularly scheduled on campus and at regional business locations to help HR professionals keep up with developments in the field.
Experiential Learning
Engaging students in real-life workforce opportunities helps to strengthen our integration of future HR leaders into practical value-adding activities that support ongoing projects with our industry partners. We offer opportunities to intern with leading companies and human service organizations and to participate in corporate roundtable discussions of current human resources and labor relations issues with senior HR executives and labor leaders.
Advisory Board
The center’s activities benefit from the guidance of its Business Advisory Board, comprised of senior human resource and labor relations professionals. Board members participate in regular reviews of academic course work, act as mentors, identify opportunities for academic-industry initiatives, and contribute to our professional enrichment activities. They frequently participate in classroom discussions that help illuminate the subtleties of workforce management.
