Information for Families
Welcome, Families!
At New York Tech, we understand your critical role in your students’ lives. As we support their successes inside and outside the classroom, we want to ensure you have the resources and communications to help you do the same.
These basic links can help you direct your students to academic support while keeping you aware of important deadlines, policies, university news, and activities.
All first-year and transfer students are guided by a first-year advisor from the Office of Undergraduate Academic Advising. Not only will their first-year advisor guide them with their course selection for their first year but they will also connect with your student throughout the year in order to explain important due dates and deadlines, share helpful resources, and notify them of upcoming events. Check out the New Student Checklist as one example.
Furthermore, all first-year and transfer students will be assigned to a Peer Success Guide and granted access to My Guide to Success @ New York Tech, an online course designed and developed to help students become familiar with New York Tech and have a smooth transition. Topics in this course include information about the New York campuses, time management, academic skills, financial literacy, career exploration, getting involved, and more. In addition to receiving a tremendous amount of knowledge, students who complete modules in this course are entered to win monthly raffles!

Learn about billing, payment plans, and more. Since the Federal Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) limits the amount of information we can provide you, have your student review the FERPA release option to grant financial and/or academic access to their account information.
Policies and rules affecting students may be found in the Student Handbook, as well as on the New York Tech website. Students who enroll at New York Tech are responsible for the knowledge of, and compliance with, all policies and rules affecting them, including but not limited to those in the student handbooks, traffic and parking regulations, and residence life.
