No matter how long you’ve been away, New York Tech is excited to welcome you home!

Let us help you get back on track and work toward completing your degree at New York Tech. We will help you design a flexible degree program that fits your schedule.

Graduate faster than you think! Did you know that …

• You may be able to transfer credits from any other institution(s) you may have attended?
• Changing your major may reduce the total number of credits you need to complete in order to graduate?
• Depending on your work experience, you might be able to qualify for life experience credits, which may apply towards some of your outstanding credit requirements?

Resuming your academic studies shouldn’t be a difficult task, so let us help you through this process! Find your easy-to-follow next steps, below, to help get you back on track to completing your degree.

Returning after one semester?
If you’ve only taken a one-semester break, great news! You’re eligible to resume your studies simply by connecting with your academic advisor in order to determine your next sequence of courses for the upcoming semester. Find your advisor here and schedule your advising appointment today! Note: If you left in Good Academic Standing and attended any other college/institution during your time away, you will need to submit your official transcript(s) in order to have those credits evaluated for transfer credits. Transcripts can be submitted to our Admissions office (admissions@nyit.edu).

Returning after two or more semesters?
If you’re returning after two or more semesters away, please complete the application, choose returning student, and use the fee waiver code RETURN. Be prepared to provide your transcript(s) if you’ve attended any other college/institution during your time away in order to have those credits evaluated for transfer credit. Financial Aid and Scholarships for Returning Students
We are pleased to award returning undergraduate students with scholarships based on your GPA:

• If you have only attended New York Tech, we will use your cumulative GPA from New York Tech.
• If you have attended other schools in addition to New York Tech, please submit your transcripts to admissions@nyit.edu. Your new cumulative GPA will be calculated to determine your award.

Transfer Credits and Prior Learning
If you have attended another school, you may be able to transfer your credits. Depending on your work experience, you might be able to qualify for life experience credits. We also offer college credit based on relevant prior college-level learning, military and workforce experience, and a portfolio review.
