Cancer remains a leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. In this talk, part of the CAS Dean’s Digital Café series, Prof. Subhabrata Chaudry will discuss pyruvate carboxylase (PC), an important enzyme in the citric acid cycle that has been implicated in various human diseases, including cancer. Dr. Chaudry’s will describe his team’s efforts to design and synthesize potent and selective small molecule inhibitors of PC that will eventually pave the way for the development of targeted cancer therapies.
