The Ferrara Center For Patient Safety and Clinical Simulation provides learners with realistic clinical experiences to learn, practice, and assess their skills while receiving real-time feedback in a safe environment.
- 16 fully equipped patient exam rooms
- 9-bed emergency room
- 2 trauma rooms
- 1 pre-briefing room
- 3 multipurpose rooms
- 10 high-fidelity mannequins to simulate patient conditions for life saving treatment and skills practice. 3 adult CAE mannequins, 1 adult Gaumard trauma mannequin, 2 five-year-old Gaumard pediatric mannequins, 2 infant Gaumard mannequins
- Lower-fidelity static mannequins for procedure training (i.e., IV, IO, Central Line, OB/GYN, Foley catheter, rectal and prostate exam, breast exam, heart and lung sounds, EKG recognition, 12 lead EKG placement, cardiac monitor, CPR and AED’s and Airway management)
- All spaces are equipped with CAE Learning Space, a data collection and program management system to assess student clinical performance
