Department of Clinical Specialties

Message from the Chair

Welcome to the Department of Clinical Specialties at NYITCOM. The faculty members in this department range from many primary care specialties, pharmacology, surgical, and subspecialty care.

Public health, global studies, and clinical as well as medical education research are also cornerstones of this department. It is this diversity as individuals in our department which is our strength as a whole. With our wide range of expertise, we are able to find solutions, innovate, and continually improve the educational experience for our students and optimize medical care for our patients. To this end, we seek the advancement of medical knowledge and to provide the finest education possible for our medical students as well as lifelong education of physicians throughout their careers.

Mission

The Department of Clinical Specialties of the New York Tech College of Osteopathic Medicine serves to advance the academic, clinical, and research in medicine. We constantly endeavor to develop programs of excellence in educational pedagogy, patient care, and research discovery for the betterment of our students, patients, and society.

Research

Research in cardiovascular conditions, public health, global health, and geriatric health is vital for improving healthcare quality and medical education. These fields address chronic diseases and aging populations, with a focus on Parkinson’s disease and neuromuscular medicine to develop better therapies. Together, they contribute to a more effective and equitable healthcare system.
