Department of Nursing

An Art and a Science

New York Tech’s Department of Nursing believes the profession holds accountability for decisions and ethical care. We train nurses who are responsive to the uniqueness of individuals and communities, fostering full partnership and interdisciplinary collaboration in the care and healing process.

New York Tech’s nursing program is based on a foundation of theory, research, practice, and policy advocacy within a transcultural context. We prepare students to provide nursing care in varied settings and to assume community and institutional roles that meet the needs of a global society.

Our curriculum addresses individualized human needs across the patient’s lifespan from a holistic perspective that promotes excellence in nursing care, patient dignity, and patient safety through evidence-based practice and information technology.

Nursing, B.S.

Our program will equip you with the skills and confidence necessary to handle nurses’ real-world situations. You’ll gain boots-on-the-ground training in diverse clinical placements throughout New York City and beyond, and prepare for a career in one of the nation’s fastest-growing professions.

Student Voices

In my nursing class, we had people who were in their 40s; we had people who were in their early 20s. Having all these minds together brainstorming, bringing different ideas from different cultures—I think that’s amazing.
